Teachers and homeschoolers have a key role in shaping the next generation. This is an amazing opportunity and an awesome challenge. The shaping of young minds who will build the future!

But how many teachers who are currently working have the opportunity, due to busy schedules, to access specific and integrated christian educational training? This in-service training programme promotes the acquisition of basic knowledge and skills for a teacher. Every two years, the University of the Nations (Youth With A Mission in Burtigny) in partnership with Instruire.ch (Association of Christian schools in French-speaking Switzerland) offers an in-service training course for teachers (and parent teachers) that lasts one school year.

Educating for Life demonstrates how to use teaching methods that include hands-on activities and discussion. In this way, teachers can learn by their own experience of being students in the program! Not restricted to participants of the christian faith, the principles of teaching will apply to any age of student, and any subject area.

TEAM
DYNAMICS
Collaboration with God and one another is highly emphasized on this course. So throughout your time you will embark on a journey of discovery with others to build this kingdom culture which you can take back to your classroom. We commit to invest in relationships, prayer and training for each new teacher in our schools.
SKILL
PRACTICE
You will be encouraged and challenged to sharpen your teaching approach to produce relevant, creative and high quality work. Your assignments and projects will present more than enough opportunity for you to grow.
WORSHIP &
PRAYER
Worship and prayer are integral aspects of our daily lives. Engaging in these allows us to grow a deeper passion for God and seek revelation of his heart and purposes for the world. It is a place to get nourishment, encouragement and inspiration as we connect and join in his redemptive work. We also find the courage to change and be transformed into better educators.
ONGOING
FELLOW-UP
The follow-up of the teacher by a trainer during the year consists of, among other things, four visits of at least half a day to the teacher's class, plus interviews after observation and some coaching. There is also personal work to be handed in.
